| Hey! to all my classmates. I am leaving in North Carolina, the Triad area. My company relocated about 3 years ago. I retired this year! I finally found what I wanted to do. I am a 3rd Degree Knight, and and Usher at Blessed Sacrament in Burlington, NC. I still have a 2 daughters and 1 son under 18 living with me and my wife Ellie. The rest are through college. I enjoyed my trip down memory lane while looking through the photo albums. I saw a picture of myself in Sr. Phylis' first grade and Sr. John Michael's third grade. I was in Mrs. Danca's first class - 5th grade, 1979-1980. I became a teacher because of her. She is the best teacher I ever had. I live in Raleigh, NC with my husband, Jason and children Connor (11) and Kaitlin (9). I am the principal of an elementary school. |

My teachers were Sister Rita Mary, Sister Georgiana, Sister Mary Catherine, Mrs. Gravina, Mrs. Bocker, and Mrs. Kahiny. Class of 1961 How wonderful to find this website! I am a nurse practitioner, live in Skaneateles NY and work in Syracuse - too far from the ocean and the beach. Just wandering about this site has brought a flood of longings and memories - of classmates (I remember every one!), stolen glances (either out the window or at a special boy...), of recess and penny candy and the little library and sitting on the brick wall talking, and the last dance in 8th grade (such romance!), Jahns ice cream parlor, the Laurel theater and much, much more. |

| Class of 1961.It seems like a million lifetimes ago to even think of those years. Every name has a resonance and a memory which are still very clear. I will always remember the last and only dance at graduation when we got to hold those lovely female classmates we had been separated from all those years. How cruel that life was like that in Catholic school and how poignant it seems in my memory. Dancing to songs long forgotten now. With girls we would never see again after graduation. Today, I received an e-mail from a former US Marine with whom I served 3 years and subsequently attended the University of the Americas in Mexico 2 years after! He remembered that I lived in LB and that I was Catholic. He logged onto this website and recognized me. He did say that I haven't changed a bit since 1971. (He was always a kind soul.) In any case, thanks to your hard work in maintaining this website, my friend & I have reacquainted and are enjoying the same memories and nostalgia which was celebrated at the reunion last year and still is a topic of conversation all over town. | I cannot begin to tell you how happy I was to have this burst of nostalgia. I attented LBCS from third grade until seventh (1971), when my family moved to Greece. I have very warm memories of attending grade school. I remember so many little things, attending Mass, half day Wednesdays when we got to go bowling, and the small library. I just remember a very warm feeling even though the classes were a size unmentionable today. So happy that I found this website, you brought back that warm feeling. Thank you. | We were the very first class that attended LBCS from kindergarten to the 8th grade. I remember the convent was across the street and we had a lovely Mother Superior as Principal, Mother Teresa. I can almost remember all my teacher's names! No small feat in this day in age. When it came time for my daughter to attend school, unfortunately I no longer lived in Long Beach, having moved to New Hampshire many years prior. LBCS was the template I used to in finding a school. Only one came close. Happy 50th Birthday LBCS, rather LBCRS! You were a wonderful place to begin learning. I can't wait to celebrate with you! | |||

| Congrats to all my "summer time" friends on the 50th anniversary of their school..which was always the hub for most of the legal activity I had as kid growing up in Long Beach during the summers. | CONGRATULATIONS ON 50 YRS - although I've lived in Florida for over 30 years, I'll always remember LBCS - graduated 1960 - our year started the "2" classrooms due to the high birth rate 1946-47 and pretty much stayed that way! | |||

| I just saw the pictures on your fine web site of two recent events. My computer must have malfunctioned as both the people I recognized(Tommy Sofield and Tommy Evard) had white hair. I distinctly remember that Tommy Sofield had light brown hair and Tommy Evard had blond hair. They also looked quite a bit older than I recalled. I immediately called the Geek Squad but they informed mr my computer was fine. I am puzzled. I live in San Diego and I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion in June. Maybe then I'll figure out why both Tommys look different from our days at LBCS. | |||
